Kelly Beach was born in Kalamazoo, MI where her mom allowed her to paint her first mural on her bedroom wall at the age of 9. She left her career as a Physician Assistant to obtain a Bachelor’s of Fine Art in painting at Boise State University as well as studied graduate art courses at the Academy of Art University. She mainly works in oil and is a founding member of the Plein Air Painters of Idaho and a member of the Oil Painters of America. Her work is in collections throughout the U. S. as well as Spain and Italy. She is represented by Gallery 55 in McCall, ID and NfintiT Gallery in Boise, ID.
“I believe creating art in some ways exposes a society to itself and allows me as an artist to divulge my impressions of the world. I as the artist use my discretion to create what I want to reveal. This evolution results from paying closer attention to my artistic process with each painting and how paint can bring depth, character and content to a flat surface.”
“I enjoy mixing and moving the paint around, whether on my palette or directly on the canvas. I am not afraid to mix new colors or try new techniques because even an unsuccessful painting may push me in a new and exciting direction. I find the more I develop my artistic process, the more I learn about being an artist and the powerful communication I can convey through my paintings.”
