Plein Air Painters of Idaho (PAPI) paint on location, "alla Prima," from life, thereby capturing moments in
time forever preserved for the enjoyment of the viewer. The varied
styles of each artist loosely captures the essence of Idaho's vast
canyon lands, high deserts, valleys, native prairies still wild at
heart, lakes and rivers and the floral life of our lush landscapes in the
west. These landscapes reflect a conservation of place and
respectful conservancy in a culture of reverent observation and
passionate expression of oneness with nature. They bring
environmental awareness of the needs of the people, habitat and
ecosystems conservation through their retentions of the land.
Their images offer understanding of the urgency of protecting the
fragile interdependency of biodiversity and man's impact on that
structure and the responsibility of all to preserve that which is
beautiful and wild within our state.
