This is a placeholder posting for the 2018 event. Details for 2018 are pending.
Dozens of anglers hope for an edge on the opening day of fly fishing along Idaho’s Silver Creek, hoping to catch the “biggest trout”. PAPI artists hope to capture the action on the water, with its beautiful backdrop of mountains and farm fields, in a memorable painting. The Silver Creek meanders through fields and marshlands with plenty of locations to set up for painting en plein air along its banks
Silver Creek Paint Out Schedule of Events:
Friday: Arrival of artists…locate your camping spot or check into your motel room. Artists may paint throughout the day and dine wherever you choose. For your information, the Picabo General Store is open 7AM -4PM every day. The Store has gas, ice, food, & limited groceries. Also, Bellevue and Hailey have several good restaurants.
Saturday: Paint throughout the morning, meet for lunch if you’d like, you may purchase food from (Grumpy’s Wagon) then paint some more!
Sunday: Paint throughout the day. There will be a PAPI sponsored BBQ at Pamela Street’s house at 7PM (address will be provided). Artists are free to paint in Pam’s yard, or elsewhere.
Monday: Typically a pack-up and travel day…however some artists do enjoy painting in various locations on their way back home (such as the impromptu “Paint Fairfield”).

Each year, PAPI members display and sell artwork at the Sawtooth Interpretive Center located near Redfish Lake. The Interpretive Center staff sells the paintings for PAPI artists throughout the summer in return for a 35% donation per sale to the Interpretive Center.
Pam Street is coordinating the delivery of PAPI artwork to the Center. To help defray the cost of each artist driving to Redfish Lake to deliver their paintings, participating artists may chose to deliver 2-3 paintings to Pam during the Silver Creek Paint Out. If an artist isn’t attending the Silver Creek Paint Out, he/she may send 2-3 paintings along with another participating artist.
These paintings must be 12″x16″ or smaller, wrapped securely and marked with the artist name, phone number, and address. On the back of each painting include: artist name, painting title, and sales price. Each artist may also include a few business cards for display. The paintings must be framed or canvas wrapped and wired for hanging.
