Karen Lesser has been a lifelong artist, starting in early childhood, later winning the Vincente Minnelli Scholarship for the Creative Arts at UCLA, graduating with a degree in art from the University of California.
Karen embarked on a 32 year long career as a high school Art educator in southern California, before retiring from that field to become a full time painter. Landscapes and wildlife are her favorite subjects with an emphasis on color, harmony and light.
Karen has always had a deep and emotional connection to nature and wildlife. Living in a remote mountainous area in Central Idaho, is an ideal location for limitless painting opportunities, as well as, the location of her home and business, Northern Light Artworks. Winter snows will find her working indoors in her studio on large studio paintings, based upon studies made during the warmer months.
